How about the bride who sneaks up on you in the Wal*Mart parking lot (having seen the sign on your car) and after saying Hi the next thing out of her mouth is "How much do you charge per slice" - never mind, are you even available or are you any good or the location of her reception. It's a sign of the times. Lots of gals come from broken families and the old man has been paying child support for 20 years and will be damned if he'll shell out any more for the wedding. Horrible year for skin flints and those trying to bend the rules.

: oh, Diane- thanks! that made me laugh! I haven't had anyone email me 25 times!! My diatribe woman did talk on and on about how some other decorator wouldn't return her phone calls!! Wonder why!?!? I am already starting to hate it. I've been a stay at home mom for a while, and started doing this again last year, and though I love doing cakes, I am wishing myself back. I will increase my minimum, and try to ignore the insults.
