: That my cake decorating skills are in demand and command higher prices - something I had to learn the hard way after working long hours for nothing.  One January I took a deep breath, hiked the prices way up and I've been on a roll ever since.  Lost a lot of dinky cake orders but got all the big ones.


: I politely turned a Bride down last night, she had disaster written all over her, and I just don;t need the drama. Afterwards, I was thinking about how long it took me to learn this lesson, namely that it's ok to tell people no. I realized that I now have a lot of things learned the hard way that I wish I had known earlier. So, what have YOU learned the hard way that you wish you'd learned earlier?
