Bakery Craft Spiked Pillars

Does anyone know if the Bakery Craft Spiked Pillars work with the Wilton plastic decorator preferred plates? I was going to get the Wilton Grecian Spiked Pillars, but they look so thin to me, I'm not sure how they would hold up. I have a 4 tier 16-14-8-6 cake that I planned on using these with.

If anyone can think of a safer setup, please let me know. Oh and the bride wants 7" between bottom, 5" between 2nd and 3rd and 3" between 3rd and 4th.
