You've discovered what a lot of other people also learned the hard way...the Wilton leveler's blade is too flimsy! I bouht mine YEARS AGO from Maid of Scandanavia and it is still going strong, but when I have to get a new one, I will probably go with the Abgay or one of the other really strong ones on the market.

: Has anyone used the large Wilton leveler? I tried it tonight on my 14" square cake and it was a disaster. The blade kept angling upward as I was sawing and cut into the top of the cake. I decided not to put in a filling because I couldn't torte it.
