I would have just kept the full amount. If they forgot they rented it after paying for it they obviously were not tramatised by the cost of the rental. Same thing hapened to me a few weeks ago. They paid for rental for linen top and skirt for the cake table. When I got there the table was covered with a lovely plastic top and with paper swag twisted streamers ha ha gotta love it. I wasn't going to remove all the stuff and decorations on the table to put mine on. If it wasn't important enough to remember they rented it it wasn't an important issue enough for me to go to the extra trouble on putting it on once I got there.
: Yesterday I delivered 3 wedding cakes. One of them wanted to rent my round silver cake stand, so I had to cart that along. We got there and there was a stand already. What would you have done since you had carted the stand along? I charged her half the rental price as I felt I had fulfilled my obligation and she didn't seem to mind, but I was wondering how you all would have handled it? Thanks.
