Shelf life of Hi Ratio shortenings

I have been ordering Alpine shortening, about five 3 lb. containers at a time, probably three times a year. I have no local supplier so must mail order it. If I ordered a 50 lb. cube will it keep for about a year? Our home is air conditioned so it doesn't get real warm.
