The name brand is "Karousel" and it was drop shipped from the manufacturer. The base plate is 12 inches, but it will support a much larger cake. I used it for a 16, 12, 8 stacked tier last weekend and it turned easily with all that weight.

: My electric turntable was delivered this afternoon and I am very impressed. This thing turns so smooth it's almost magical. I can't wait to ice a cake on it tomorrow. Thank you Dolores for suggesting it as a time saver. Worth every penny!
