I have not used filling between layers before. I do know to make an icing dam. How much curd do you put inside the dam. 1/2 full? to the top of dam?

I will be assembling 2 -- 10" layers and 2 -- 6" layers. How much lemon curd will I need? ( my friend is
making it and I don't know how much her recipe makes. Since her recipe is make with eggs, that means I need to fill the layers on the day of the party, right?
