:   Do you mean one single strand or line of pearls?  I guess it depends on the size of the pearl as to whether or not you put them on by hand or use a pearl maker.  Whichever way you choose, you can dust the ones made in the pearl maker with pearlized luster dust to give them a nice finish.  I think the look you're going for with pearl swags and calla lilies is a terrific one  - if the lilies are made of gumpaste you can dust them with pearl dust too.

: Does anyone know how to put swag pearls on the cake. Is it better to do one by one or use the pearl maker.  also wanting cala lilys inbetween the swags.  would this look ok? they would have to be small.
