I just remembered that I saw the same program and she didn't POP the balloon, she let the air out of it - tied the balloon closure up with a plastic bread wrapper or folded it over and closed it with a heavy duty clip. Popping releases the air too suddenly. I'm sure that's what I saw. Her icing was kinda thick and I remember wondering how on earth it would dry before she needed it. Perhaps the thickness adds strength so it won't break when popped. I HAVE to try this some time soon.



: The other night on the food challenge a cake decorator made ornaments
using royal frosting and a water balloon. I have tried but they keep
breaking when I pop the balloon. Any suggestions- greasing the balloon
(maybe).
