Thanks for the tip. What is CMC? Someone also suggested tylose. I used another suggestion today...put it in the fridge to get it cold and that helped a lot!

: I never had any luck with any of the mixes, so I make my own. Large amounts of color will effect any kind of paste. You might need to knead in a bit more CMC or Gum Tragacanth into your paste when you color it heavily.

: I recently made up some gum paste mix from Country Kitchen (dry package). I had to color some a medium grey and some a dark red. Both colors were very sticky and hard to roll out unless I used a lot of 10x. The red was particularly difficult and frustrating! Has anyone had any problems with this brand?
