I think I would remove the old liner since it's become distorted and separated - and replace it with a fresh new one. Only put a dab of icing on the bottom of the cupcake before putting it into the new liner to make it stick. Keeping the liner on it keeps the moisture in the cupcake and keeps little ones hands cleaner longer.

: I'm making two cupcake cakes this week. I've done this many times with normal batters and it works great. I've recently made one with DH Classic Yellow and Ener G egg replacer (for food allergy).

My problem is that about 6-8 of the cupcakes have become separated from the cupcake liner. I've never seen this happen. Would you remove the cupcake from the liner or keep it in the liner to ice? This is for a child's birthday. TIA!
