Rosemary Watson was a great proponent of winding yellow thread around two fingers and then tie another string around the middle - clip both ends then place a wire where the center thread was to form the middle. If you want a stiffer solution, how about visiting your local Quilting shop and ask for spools of yellow quilting thread which is twice as stiff as regular thread. Coat thread is also pretty stiff.

: Anyone besides me hate making all those little stamens for GP hydrangea. Any suggestions on a quicker way to make them? I have the silicone mold from First Impressions Molds, but you still have to make them one at a time.

I live to find some artifical ones that were on stiff stems....most artifical stamens are too flimsy to support the flowers.

Any ideas?
