Thanks for all the input, I was talking to another cake baker, and they said you can use the kitchen aid bowl, but as you all said, you would need a core for the center. They suggested for a temp fix, a tightly rolled up piece of tin foil, or for a permanant fix, a piece of copper piping. hmmmmm, I think I might look for a pyrex bowl at the local junk shop. I am thinking about making a doll cake with a poodle skirt for a cake contest at our Fair this summer. The theme for the novelty cake is the 50's.
