I absolutely agree Mary K - not my style or the style of most of my brides - guess we live in the wrong areas!! I'm in boondocks, MO even though I'm near Kansas City and do a lot of cakes in that area, but they are looking for a bargain, not $22 a slice - give me a break!!
WHO gets that kind of price - I certainly can't imagine anyone paying it. One of the gals is from Missouri (in an area where they even get less than the KC area so I can't imagine her getting the $6 she is saying for that cake). If I get $3 per serving, I think I'm overcharging! Maybe I am not believing in myself, but still I don't believe in gouging brides even though it seems we are gouged everywhere - like the gas pumps and groceries. I had a bridal shop for awhile and I finally sold out as I couldn't make a good profit doing that even though people think a wedding dress is priced out of line. I'll stick to my prices where I am comfortable making some profit and feeling good about what I'm giving my customers.
