LOL! I always chide my son and brother for joining the Masons instead of the Shriners just for the reason you mentioned. They could wear silly hats and drive tiny cars at the circus. As I understand it the two organizations are related in some way.

As for the Mason's being a secret society, my son constantly tells me he'd like to show me the secret handshake, but if he does he'd have to kill me. Guess he's waiting until after I do the cake.
