I would definitely support every two layers with cardboard and dowels since it will be tall and narrow. You can form the facemask out of fondant and let it dry on several rolls of paper towel to make the curve. Or, you canbend it out of a wire hanger and cover the wire with fondant.

: I am making a Redskins Helmet as a grooms cake at the end of this month.

I was wondering about supporting this cake. I was thinking about stacking 5-6 8" cakes and carving them. Should I support every 2 layers with board and dowels?

Any ideas for making the face mask portion of the cake?? Thanks for your help!!
