I recently taught a very short class to some teenagers in a church group. The two
things that went over the best with them were 1.) simply icing the tops of the
cupcakes, then instead of covering the top with "sprinkles", I showed them how to
just dip the edges of the cupcake in sprinkles (much fancier than sprinkles on top)
and 2.) gumdrop roses by rolling out big gumdrops on a sugar covered board and
then scrunching the middle to make a "rose". They were impressed and both skills
were easy to master with things they might already have at home. Good luck!
