: Since her total is minimal at best, I would do most of the cake in a cupcake tower, and put a cake ambulance (white & black with a red cross) on top as the topper (brides profession) with the bride standing next to the back of the ambulance which has the doors open and a man, the groom, on a plank of wood (to represent his line of work), in his tux with a sign saying, They'll get me to the church on time.



: Hi All,
I need some ideas for a wedding cake.  Here is the only info i have been given and it is not enough to get my creative juices flowing.  I need to see the garb/dres, to have more direction than she has given me.

"I am a paramedic and my partner who is from Micronesia is a lumber mill worker.  We are a blended family as I have two boys and he has a girl.  Our wedding colors are black white and red.  My dress is red and the men are wearing traditional island sarees that are black silk with silver and gold detailing.  We would like a cake that is as original and fun loving as the two of us are. "

I have a few wedding things: the floating tier stand, the original scroll stand that has the 4 corners for candles, crystal clear pillars, plates, and fountain, and a crystal glass square shaped pedastal server.

I would appreciate any ideas.  She has not even mentioned flavors or anything yet.  Since i am not offical i am not willing to make anything that needs to be kept in the fridge.

Her budget is $300. and needs to serv 100-120 people.  She would like for me to come for set up also.  I am not even sure what pricing for this should be yet since i just moved back (NW area) after being gone for 4 yrs and i have not done a cake here in that long.  Usually it is friends and family i have done cakes for and i am sure you know how it goes, they all want you to do it for free or really cheap.  I wil be posting this under the pricing section also so others can give me an idea of what something like that would typically be, per piece, etc.  I know Dolores likes to keep it separated.  I included this info to let you know the price/budget we are working with so your ideas will reflect it.
