Mickey Mouse theme

I have to make a Mickey Mouse birthday cake for a 2 year old. The mom has purchased a licensed figurine so I don't have to worry about copyright infringement, but my question is.... what can I do to make it more original. Any suggestions for side decorations? The figurine is Mickey standing beside a tiered cake. I am at a loss for how to decorate the rest of the cake.
