For most cakes I use colored foil. For weddings I use white contact paper.

: I use wrapping paper from the dollar store, which I cover with clear contact. All my cakes are on a foil covered board,on which I use double stick carpet tape to tape them to the contact covered cake board. This keeps my cake off the covered cake board, all that is touching the cake board is the boarder.

Contact is made to be used in our cupboards, and although the company does not certify it as food safe, I would hope that it is if my dishes, glasses, etc are on it all day every day.

: Could anyone give suggestions on what to use to cover a cake board instead of foil?
