If you go by Wilton's chart I believe they say, the 8 inch will give you 32, and the 10 inch will give 50, that is servings that are 1 inch by 2 inch by 4 inch high, or what is usually referred to as wedding cake servings. Party size servings, are larger, and you would need more cake.

: How much cake will I need to be able to serve 80 people? I have an 8" and a 10" square pan which I would like to use. I plan to make 2 8" squares and 2 10" squares and stack them to make a tiered cake. I'm not against having 2 identical cakes if necessary.
