You don't say how many it's to serve but you're right, I think that you'll need a sturdy board with a pipe screwed into the center to place the cakes over - then carve Elmo out - crumb coat, freeze it then apply the finish coat. Or if it doesn't need to serve more than 10 - 15, just bake the Wilton large standing bear cake, lop off his ears, trim down his "sitting" legs, and shape into Elmo.



: Does anyone know how to make a standing elmo cake? I've only ventured as far as to make sitting figure cakes.

According to the wood-shop work going on with these cake deco shows, I'm a little frightened! Looks like I need a table saw just to make a cake! Not sure how else it could be done...HELP!
