Yes, you cover the cake AND the foam at the same time (makd sure your foamcore plate under the cake is the exact same size as the cake) then put the ribbon around the base on the fondant - apply just a tiny bit of moisture to the bottom of the fondant to make it sticky and the ribbon won't move.

: I will be using this for a wedding this weekend. I need to put blue fondant around the styrofoam part. Does anyone know the best way to do this so I don't ruin the ribbon on the foam and that it won't fall off?
