Yes, just a little water will stick the lilies to the fondant cake - but if you are placing them down the sides (cascade) then I would attach them with a bit of royal. And yes that's the best way to treat a borderless cake, treat the board as part of the cake and bring the fondant down over it and cut as close as you can to the board beneith it. If you have some gaps, just pipe a little royal into the cracks between the board under the board the cake is on and swipe the excess royal away with a slightly damp finger - sort of like putty.
: I need to add fondant lilies to the fondant cake. Do I just use a little water to adhere? Also, I have no borders for this cake, so do I just have the boards cut to cake size and cover the edge of the board with the fondant? I can't wait until this cake is done this Saturday!
