What a nightmare for you! Sorry you had to go through this. Seems we all have to live through a few nightmares. I've had to take a couple of bride's parents to court to get paid. I live in a small rural town area so usually don't ask for payment up front. However, I've changed a few things since then and don't trust everyone especially if I don't know them.
I hope you can move on and be done with this.
