Old Timey Spice Cake

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 & 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 & 1/2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup salted butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 & 1/2 cups of buttermilk

Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon,
nutmeg, cloves and ginger; Set aside.
Cream together butter and oil.
Add sugar and vanilla until well mixed.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Add dry mixture and buttermilk alternately into creamed mixture.
Pour into 2 (8 in. round) prepared cake pans.
Bake @ 350ºF for 35-40 minutes, or until
toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
