Yup, just like Dolores said, mark where you want the four pillars to go by impressing the feet of the next tiers plate gently into the bottom tiers icing - then attach the four 7" long pillars into the plate you just used as your marking plate and press the four pillars down into the bottom layer until all four pillars hit the bottom plate. Then ice your second smaller cake on a round of cardboard or if its a larger cake, on a round of foam core board (ice over the board sides so it can't be seen), place a dab of icing or if you want - a strip of double sided tape onto the plate and put the cake in place. The tape will stick to both the plate and the foam core board and will also act as a non skid pad.

: Forgot to mention that the crystal twisted pillars
are about the size round of a little finger, and 7 1/2" tall.
