Have you ever had any problems with the stress free cake stands? I need to make a wedding cake for a coworker in April and the wedding is two hours away driving up and down hills. The cake will be a three tier stacked cake. I will not be attending the wedding and the bride was a little concerned about transporting the cake. She did make a comment on me delivering the cake which I really don't want to even consider. I was planning on adding the price of the stress free stands in to the price of the cake. Do you still need to support the cake with a large dowel down the middle or will the stands work fine on their own? The cake will be covered in fondant if that makes any difference. TIA.
