you're a hard man Jeff but I like your style. She WILL live to regret questioning your prices. Seems like nothing is sacred any more and all wedding magazines tell you to pretend you're at a yard sale and negotiate for a lower price. Can't do that at Macy's so why should we stand for it?
: A mother of the bride called me over two months ago for a June wedding, asked me to email her pricing information, the called back and said to definitely book the date. THEN, she calls me today, basically trying to say my prices are too high, so I told her she'd need to find a new baker and I could not tie the date up any longer...I have other brides who know the value of what they are getting that want the date!
: Believe me...it is easy for me to send someone packing! If I sense they are too hard to work with, they go somewhere else!
: I once had a truely obnoxious mother who totally disregarded the bride's wishes and very vocally stated that what she (the mother) wanted was what I was to do. The poor girl, who I'm sure had been bullied her whole life by the woman, just sat there looking like she wanted to bawl. When I told the mother she already had her wedding and the consult was for the daughter, she told me SHE was paying therefore I was to make the cake SHE wanted.
I felt so sorry for the daughter, I made the cake the daugher wanted which was nothing like what the mother ordered. I was prepared to give the b*tch a full refund but suprisingly, she never called. I've always wondered why.
