I wouldn't miss not doing that much cake decorating, I teach those classes myself. I guess I just wanted to take it a step further. I know they work with pulled sugar and that would be wonderful to learn. But, I don't know how many days you get to do that. I also would love to learn how to work with those convection ovens and big Hobart mixers. I was joking with my husband maybe I should just buy all the equipment and teach myself....might be cheaper.

: I've heard the same thing. Pastry School is just that - for pastry, not a lot of cake decorating is done - that's something you need to do on your own. I learned by viewing video tapes endlessly - just ask my poor husband.

: I can't answer that for you, but I think for me it would depend on what all I intended to do with it after I worked so hard. If all you want to do is cake decorating, I'd think maybe this would not be what I would choose.
