using thin or shallow candy mold

: Hi,
 I need to use a candy mold that is very thin, the numbers mold. The numbers are VERY shallow, and when I try to get them out of the mold, they break apart. Should I cut the number I need out and use ot like that?
 I am using the candy melts dark choc.
 I melt them in the disp bags, I really like them.
 Help!! I do not have trouble with other molds which are deeper.
