I need to make some chocolate pearls. If I get the silicone putty to make my own molds do I put some in a box, press in the pearls, and wait for it to set up and pop the pearls out?

I need them to go on a cake: my frosting dissolves fondant and candyclay makes my frosting "crack" so I'm kind of stuck.
