Good Lord, what kind of icing are you using that would melt fondant. I've used fondant on IMBC, and standard Crisco type buttercreams as well as fondant on fondant......successfully. I do love the Silicone Plastique compounds that Dolores offers. Yes, you just purchase a string of pearls the size you need, mix equal parts of the putty together - press the pearls into the putty and wait for 20 minutes for it to set up, pull out the pearls and fill the cavity with whatever you want. Could you mix half gumpaste and half fondant together? I actually like the other posters idea of tootsie rolls.

: I need to make some chocolate pearls. If I get the silicone putty to make my own molds do I put some in a box, press in the pearls, and wait for it to set up and pop the pearls out?

I need them to go on a cake: my frosting dissolves fondant and candyclay makes my frosting "crack" so I'm kind of stuck.

Who can help?? =) thanks!
