I have always said that someday we will all be using computers to not just "DESIGN" a cake or candy (like we now do), but to also actually "PRODUCE" a 3D cake or candy without the actual "baker's hands".
Well, it has now been done with the homemade "CandyFab 4000"....
I know it is still a few years from being on the market, but some DIY'ers have actually come up with a "sugar printer" that can print/fabricate 3D models out of sugar.
The possibilities are endless with this concept--computer fabricated cakes, chocolates, gingerbread houses, etc..
Again, I know it is a few years away from being marketed, but I can remember my early computing days in the 1970's when we only dreamed of home printers in COLOR and 3D graphics....

One thing for sure, I sure would rather buy a 50 Lb bag of sugar to refill my printer rather than 50 gallons of inkjet ink!
