Karo won't dry if there is much thickness at all. Maybe after a long time. But by then the candy will be dried up too. I was taught to spread egg whilte over them to make the pieces shiny. I know...not recommended anymore. Possibly you could use clear piping gel. It won't dry fast but after a couple of days it will set. Dolores
