Debbie, this is the one from the Cake Mix Dr. and I finally have time to type it out for you. I love this cake especially with cream cheese icing.
1 pkg German Choc cake mix w/pudding (I use DH, works good)
1 c sour cream
1/2 c water
1/4 oil
1 bottle (1 oz) red food coloring
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9" round pans.
Place cake mix, sour cream, water, oil, food coloring, eggs and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Blend w/mixer on low speed for 1 min. Scrape down sides of bowl w/rubber spatula. Increase mixer speed to medium and beat 2-3 min more, scraping sides again if needed. Divide batter into prepared pans.
Bake cakes until done 28-30 min. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks for 10 min. Turn out cakes and cool completely , another 30 min.
Frost w/cream cheese icing (I use Kathyf's recipe). Enjoy!
