Gingerbread House Recipe: 1 C. Light Corn syrup, 1/2 C. Packed Brown sugar, 1/2 C. Shortening, 4 C. flour, 1 T. Ginger, 1 T. Cinnamon. Preheat oven to 350. In a small pan cook corn syrup, brown sugar and shortening over medium heat until melted and combined. In a large bowl combine flour, ginger and cinnamon. Mix well. Add corn syrup mixture and mix until it forms into dough. On lightly floured surface roll dough out to a 1/2 inch thick rectangle. Cutout shapes and place at least 1 inch apart on baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly, trim pieces if needed. Cool completely.
: I'm entering a gingerbread house contest. I need a good gingerbread recipe that won't fall apart on me in the humid South! It doesn't have to taste good, only hold up. Thanks! Jennifer
