If you use all butter, exchange some butter for margarine. All butter cookies will be thinner than those made with a butter/margarine combo or all margarine.

: Hello All,

I am about to give up on making chocolate chip cookies! For about the last two years now, I have attempted to make chocolate chip cookies, and they turn out flat, with the chocolate chips sticking out.

Here is my recipe that I am using: (it is on the back of the chocolate chip package)

2 1/4 cups plain, all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 sticks butter
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

Does anyone know what is wrong with the recipe? Why are my cookies not baking up, nice an puffy?

All the best,

Susan
