Combine 1 tub vanilla [or any flavor you want] store bought icing with 2 tablespoons soft butter, 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add more sugar if you need it to be more stiff, or a few drops hot water to thin.

Unlike the plain tub icing, this version will crust!

: Can someone PLEASE share a recipe for buttercream icing using vanilla store bought icing??? Or any store bought icing for a quick buttercream recipe that's pretty good?? I am in a time crunch and need icing ASAP. Thanks!!
