Does such a thing exist? I am working with a bride who said she tasted an "Italian Cream Cake" and she loved it. However, this cake did not have coconut or nuts in it/on it. I bought all the ingredients for an Italian Cream Cake recipe I found on allrecipes.com but I'm thinking that if she doesn't want the coconut and nuts, I should be able to doctor a mix. Or, can I safely eliminate the coconut and pecans from the recipe I have without screwing it up? Can I just add buttermilk in place of water to a mix and add the flavorings? Without the nuts and coconut, the recipe just looks like a pretty basic (although high fat) white cake. I need some help! Thanks.
