Thank you sooo very much for all your research! I have fruit fresh in my cabinet! The recipe specifically said it had to be found in a pharmacy....
Now that I don't do cakes any more, I am looking for a new hobby so I thought I would try cold porcelain to make something! Thanks a bunch again!
: I did some research for you while my cake is in the mixer and asked for a sodium benzoate substitute and they came up with potassium sorbate or sorbit acid then I asked for a definition of potassium sobate and they came back with "food preservative" - now I know why it sounded so familiar. I use to can fruits and vegetables and there's a product on the market called Fruit Fresh - I am almost 100% sure if you read the label it will say sorbic acid or potassium sorbate.
: I have a recipe I got from this site several years ago...now I'm wanting to try it and I can't find sodium benzoate. Can anyone tell me where to find it...I went to a pharmacy and he even looked it up on his computer and couldn't find it....or is there a recipe out there that does not require this. TIA
