This one is simple, but quite good:

2 large cans pineapple juice
1 cup sugar
1/2 of a 2 liter 7-UP or Ginger Ale
1 quart vanilla ice cream

Combine sugar with 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Cool.

Combine pineapple juice and sugar mixture. Stir well and chill until ready to serve.

Pour into punch bowl, add 7-UP or Ginger Ale and ice cream.
