I would've thought that sponge cake was too light and, well, spongey
to work for tiers. No problems stacking or covering with fondant?

cake. It has become a very popular offering....and it's great to work

sponge cake with vanilla buttercream. The fondand bands are
marshmallow fondant and the roses gum paste.
Jeff, as usual you create/design the most beautiful cakes. I have
learned so much from you over the years and truly appreciate you
sharing your knowledge. Is this the sponge cake recipe that you
posted on the recipe icon? If yes, that recipe is wonderful. I made it
for my family the other day and they loved it! Your work continues to
be my examples I try to achieve.
